First the public school system had a book give away. While some of them were text books, a huge portion of them were library books and class sets of literature. I easily brought home 100+ free books. Because we are following SCM modules, I was able to plan into the future and find books on our history modules and some great reference books (Not to mention 4 copies each of certain literature for us to read in the upcoming years.)
THEN today I went to a curriculum sale. Just yesterday, I read in the archived forums about the “Timetables of History” and did a search on Amazon for it, but didnt want to pay $15 for it right now (with shipping). Bought it for $5 today! Got Shearer’s versions of Famous Men of Greece and Famous Men of Rome with the guidebooks for a good price. Finally, one lady was selling a brand new Chemistry set: beakers, tubes, chemicals, gloves…simply everything one would need. It was brand new, never used, probably at LEAST $200 worth…for $25!! One of my children has an intense interest in chemistry, so it was such a blessing.
I just wanted to share my praise and excitement! I didnt have much of a ‘homeschool library’ before so its been so much fun 🙂
