Thanks Jen for 1Tim. quote, I haven’t ever pondered that one before. It is so easy to forget that our most important job is as wife and mother because the World tells us differently.
Thanks Jen. I’m inspired to do the word study myself. And thanks Heather for redirecting this thread to favorite verses on this topic. I enjoy reading everyone’s faves. We’re living in an area where I don’t have the opportunity to interact with other homeschool moms who are seeking to follow God’s path and I’m so blessed by your posts here at SCM. Isn’t it neat how God provides even in the desert places.
I love reading books like these and my 17 year old dd is starting to read them also to prepare her to be a godly wife and mother. She just finished Created To Be His Helpmeet. Of course we go to scripture first, but we love good books that also encourage us. I second Passionate Housewives Desperate for God and Stepping Heavenward (one of my favorites also), and The Family (which used to be called Home-Making). I also recommend Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney & Nancy Leigh Demoss, A Mom Just Like You by Vickie Farris, and The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace.
This is a great thread-thank you!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day enjoying your many blessings!
I just had to let you know that I got my hands on a copy of the book Rachel & Danielle recommended “Passionate Housewives desperate for God” and it’s amazing. Is full of truth and shatters the lies that we as women so easily believe. Reading this has been a breathe of fresh air, renewing my vision as a wife and mother all to the glory of God! Thanks again to all of you!
