Ginger software

Is anyone here familiar with Ginger software? It is a software that checks your spelling and grammar in context and suggests a corrected sentence at the top of the document for you to approve. The premium version will also read the corrected text to you before you approve it.

I was thinking of using this with my autistic son since he just turned 14 (oh, my….I have to change my gravatar image to reflect that!), and he has spelling skills at about a first- or second-grade level, plus his expressive language skills have been lagging a bit. However, he has a lot to say in his oral narrations, and there are times when he says things that are deep and insightful. I’d like to capitalize on that while giving him more independence with narrations. Right now, I normally have him dictate his narrations as I type.

The Ginger Premium software, which includes the text-to-speech function, is on sale at Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op, but the sale price ends today….I missed seeing this earlier. I have to make a decision to purchase today if I want to get the sale price, so I’m wondering if anyone has used it and can give me feedback on it. Thanks.
