I have purchased the Get Smart Grammar! I am looking to how to set it up for use?
Missceegee…..how did you use, or how would you recommend for homeschooling, as I think you taught in a class? Should I print everything out? Can you just use it from the computer, write answers down in a spiral? Did you watch the video every time? Sometimes it’s easier to get the gist from someone who has DONE the program. Any info you can give me for 2 children using it (5th and 6th). And, easy as possible for use during school year, even if that makes it difficult now!
I printed the student books and put them in a binder. The kids need the notes and the printed exercise sheets, imo. It saves writing out the full chart on each page. You could certainly use a spiral, but I think printing is just simpler. Color printing is unnecessary.
I did not print the teacher book, but read it on the ipad. I taught most of the material without the videos, but I know the author of the program has or is making a video for every single lesson which will make it mostly self teaching.
When I taught, I taught 2 lessons per week and taught and did 2-3 problems together and the kids worked the rest on their own in the week. This worked well. My ds11 will be doing it next year with a friend and another mom helping them. The plan is for them to do 1 full lesson per week in one morning per week and they can review the lesson midweek.
Christie!!! I miss you!!! Can you remind me of your blog address? Will there be a way for me to email or contact you there? Or can you find me on Facebook? Rebekah Behrens (or maybe my business page is easier – Lilla Rose – To Do Good Things) I want to bounce some curriculum ideas off you.
