I printed the student books and put them in a binder. The kids need the notes and the printed exercise sheets, imo. It saves writing out the full chart on each page. You could certainly use a spiral, but I think printing is just simpler. Color printing is unnecessary.
I did not print the teacher book, but read it on the ipad. I taught most of the material without the videos, but I know the author of the program has or is making a video for every single lesson which will make it mostly self teaching.
When I taught, I taught 2 lessons per week and taught and did 2-3 problems together and the kids worked the rest on their own in the week. This worked well. My ds11 will be doing it next year with a friend and another mom helping them. The plan is for them to do 1 full lesson per week in one morning per week and they can review the lesson midweek.
