I decided last week to do CM style this year. It is my 10th year homeschooling and we need a new approach. I graduated a child last year and now have one in 6th grade. She needed shorter lessons to be able to focus. I set up what we’ll use for each subject and today we had our first day. (It went smoothly, by the way.)
I have not, however, planned much grammar yet. We have Mad Libs and were going to practice our letter writing skills with the basic 4 types of sentences. I’m not looking to buy a new program, but am looking for something free online that might be a good plan to follow. Or if there are any online grammar games we could play? Grammar is a finite subject, thankfully and I know what we need to cover. Just need ideas to make it interesting.
I have just started reading Grammar Land to my 2 and they love it. Ds6 did get annoyed when Mr Noun said he owns everything, because as Ds said it’s not true because all things belong to God.
We are using KISS grammar and Daily Grammar online. They are both free and can be found by googling. The KISS is especially well done. If you need help implementing the program, there is a Yahoo group you can join. However, it isn’t very active.
