This sounds like a pretty cool program. Each week they offer 2 audiobooks for free, one a classic, the second a contemporary book, both of similar theme. You have one week to download but can listen to them whenever you want. They are professionally read and have some Shakespeare, Dickens, etc. I have no idea what the contemporary books will be like…there might be some new favorites or some total bombs.
Thanks for this! I can’t use Overdrive Media (the download system) as it’s not compatible with Windows 8, but hubby’s computer doesn’t have Win 8 so I’ll download from his each week.
A quick note, next week’s Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place is a great read, I’m currently reading it aloud to my children after reading it myself a few weeks ago. Don’t miss it!
My kids LOVE audiobooks, and their iPods have made it so easy for each of them to listen to whatever they want while they chore, talk a walk, lay on the couch, or whatever. This is great!
Overdrive is not compatible with Windows 8? They’d better get working on that–all of the libraries in our area use Overdrive, and I can’t imagine they’ll be happy if their collections are not available to some (many?) of their patrons going forward.
