Formal introduction and thank you

    Just wanted to formally introduce myself. I have been a lurker here for just over a year. I have custody of my almost 5 yo granddaughter. We are very excited to begin our homeschooling journey with SCM!

    The knowledge and information I have gleaned from the moms on this forum over the past year has been so helpful and encouraging. I wish I had found this years ago when I was homeschooling my son. I thought then that I HAD to do a box curriculum. To know the many options available and to find one that comes right alongside how I imagined it would be teaching my dgd is so exciting.

    Thank you to all the moms that contribute dailt to this forum and the encouragement we “newbies” recieve on a daily basis.

    Hi Faith! Welcome! It always brings tears to my eyes to hear of a grandmother choosing to raise her grandchild.  Let alone homeschool that child!  You are an inspiration.

    Yes, that is wonderful. My grandmother did that for one of my nieces… priceless. Glad you introduced yourself… can’t wait to hear about your homeschooling journey. 🙂

    Oh and I know this might not be of interest, but I wanted to share we have a yahoo group that you might want to join. It is for families who are homeschooling adopted children. I know that is not exactly your situation as she is your grandchild, but we do have some members on there who are doing just the same. Really I just want you over there b/c you have experience and I am certain wisdom to impart. Let me know if you want a link and I’ll PM it to you!

    So glad you introduced yourself!  Agreeing with the others that you are an inspiration – and a blessing to your your grand daughter, to boot. Blessings on this wonderful journey you are embarking upon.
