I have often seen people advertising things for sale PPD (postage paid?) but wondered how they come up with what postage will be. I have a lot of curr I’d like to sell online but this one thing has stumped me. Do you cart all your materials down to the post office and have the clerk weigh each item individually and ask for the cheapest shipping rate so that you can price your items? That would not go over well at my post office. Is there another way to do it?
JusNanc–I have a scale I use to weigh things at home. But you can just estimate the shipping. Media mail is the same rate to any location in the continental US and the cost doesn’t increase much as the weight goes up…something like .50 extra per additional pound I think. You could estimate at usps.com, or just figure most things will cost around $4 to ship.
