I just had an “awwwww….” moment when I happened upon this article today: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/07/29/hundreds-brave-mud-mosquitos-to-witness-chincoteague-pony-swim/

The fond memories of literature read-alouds of Misty of Chincoteague and other books by Marguerite Henry were surpassed by my 17-year old daughter’s exclamation, upon seeing the article, “Oh, OH! Like the ponies in that book, Misty of Chincoteague! We read that book! That’s so cool!!!”

Very cool, indeed! Her reaction was worth every moment of planning and implementing our homeschool.

Don’t you just love it when your child makes those connections! It is so heart warming for a mother. 🙂
