My 9yo son is using First Start French right now. I like that it’s straight-forward, inexpensive, and easy to administer. But I also had four years of French in high school and college, so I can help him with pronunciation. It does come with a CD, if you’re willing to listen to it over and over again — it goes pretty quickly. I’m on a very tight budget, so the fancier computer-based programs were not an option. We’re taking it slowly, and supplementing with the occasional French language film. 🙂 What are you looking for in a program?
