OK, my dd wants to have an American Girl Felicity “tea party” for her birthday (which will actually be a sleepover, so “tea” really means it needs to be dinner). I am having no luck finding real 1774 type recipes. The few Felicity parties I can find have food and decorations that look very modern… We are looking to make it historically accurate, as much as possible. Ideas? Websites? Search terms??? LOL
While I’m at it, what are some good things to do at the party? My dd is turning 11, and her friends are all within a couple of years of that. We were thinking some cross-stitching, like a sampler, but that might take a long time. But then again, some of the girls she’s inviting have wanted to learn embroidery (they watch me sometimes when I’m at my dd’s class at church), so maybe not a bad idea, actually. Other ideas?
Any other ideas/tips to make this a great 11th birthday party? 🙂

Oh, that sounds so nice, so fun and memorable. How many girls? There are some go-along books for AG. One is Felicity Cooks and I think there is another one about parties. My dd has some of these books. At the end of the short story books, there are projects. One is embroidery on a baby pillow.

My daughter attended a birthday sleepover ‘tea’ this past summer. The ‘tea’ was served as breakfast in the morning. It worked well, the girls even dressed up for it.
