What age is good to begin this book?

If your child can sit and listen to a picture book, he can sit and listen to a poem.  You  might select shorter poems with wigglier children, but you can recite poetry to infants, so any time you feel like reading poetry, go for it!  Poetry is actually a literary form that many young children really enjoy, especially metered and rhymed poetry.  I don’t think there IS a “too young”  All you have to do with a huge collection liie FPO&N is choose poems of lengths and subjects your child might like.  I have read from this book to children from infants to, so far, 17.  Laughing

Oh okay, great! He loves other poems already. That book is so expensive I wanted to make sure it would be good for right now. 🙂

Yes, I think so–it’s a great investment.  My sons when young especially liked the chapters on nonsense poetry, animals, bugs, and seasons.
