    I have this book and had a question.  Is it safe to let my dd look through it on her own?  I couldn’t possibly pre-read the entire book and wondered if she would come across anything inappropriate while reading it…

    Yes, IMO this book is safe.  Let her enjoy it!  I can’t remember anything inappropriate.

    I came across one or two halloween poems – talking about the ghosts and ghools coming out tonight and such.  I think they were in the Atlas section.  But I wouldn’t let that stop my kids from reading the book on their own.  There are so many wonderful poems in there!

    I agree…I grew up with this book, and bought it for my son just recently.  Very clean!
