Hi! I’m adding books to my list to read in 2015, and I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions on inspiring books about homeschooling? Last year I read Real Learning by Elizabeth Foss and would love to find another good one!

I have lots of favorites, but these are the ones that come to mind first:

The Living Page – Laurie Bestvater

    Consider This – Karen Glass

Free Range Learning – sorry I can’t remember the author

Project Based Homeschooling – again, can’t remember :/

My favorites are the tried and true:

Karen Andreola’s Charlotte Mason Companion and her fiction books, the titles escape me now – something “Pinecones” and “Blackberry Inn”?

Catherine Levison’s books – a Charlotte Mason Education and More Charlotte Mason Education

I’ve read Real Learning and really enjoyed it; I’d like to own my own copy sometime.

In Febuary of 2013 I did a seminar on reading with two homeschool librarian friends.  Liz’s post summarizes that seminar and lists 10 books we challenged the parents to read that year.  These aren’t homeschool books or books on reading per se but they are all important in their own way.

I would second Pocketful of Pinecones and Lessons at Blackberry Inn from Andreola.  I love those!

Another one that is very good is new by Sarah Clarkson – Caught Up in a Story :  Fostering a Storyformed Life of Great Books and Imagination with Your Children.

I love that Elizabeth Foss book so much.  It’s just so spot on.  I liked Karen Andreola’s A Charlotte Mason Companion too.  Those might be my favorites for real, practical advice.

My all-time favorite is A Charlotte Mason Companion.
