I like the book The Tree Book for Kids and Their Grown-Ups SCM suggestes it in their science list and it is very nice. I also like Oak Tree. I think SCM suggests this one as well….I really like SCMs living science booklist;)

Also, I highly recommend the Nature Study Hacking books. She has one on trees (order downloadable from her website or print on Amazon).
