    I need a replacement for Famous Men of the Middle Ages, and Ren. I have a 3rd grader and a 1st Grader. Help this book is just too much for them. They are not getting much out of it.

    For those grades, I think you would be fine if you skipped the Famous Men readings and did just the grade-specific ones and any other Family readings from other books.

    That is what we are doing, and loving the grade specific readings.  For all the parents who are looking for books for their 8yo boys, this is the module for them!  Although I have all girls and we are loving them.  Viking Adventure has been a real treat for my dd7 which suprised me.  We also then have some time freed up to read other books about the MA that we find at the library that look interesting.  BBC kids online has some fun viking stuff and probably more that we just have not looked at yet.
