I’m curious how many of you keep a BOC for your family, and if you continue it for yourselves after your children have their own?
Also, as a family BOC, what format do you use? I’ve been thinking about getting a “My Book of Centuries” that Christy made – because I want to use it for a family book, and keep it for me after my boys start their own.
Which BOC is this? I’d like to know more about it. Our family has been using the Veritas Press Timeline cards and I’d like to create a BOC based on it with lots of extra pages for people and events not on the cards. Composers, artists, scientists, etc. come to mind. And, I’d like to continue it even after our children are all grown. What a nice activity to share with grand children.
I use the My Book of Centuries as a family BOC and will for another year. After that, I’ll continue with my yonger kids while my oldest begins her own. I will keep it for myself once all four are keeping their own, though it may be filled in by that time since my little guy is only 2. Your thoughts are exactly how I envisioned using it. It’s working well for our family and hope you find it useful, too, if you decide to use it.
The pre-printed one appeals to me because it’s pretty, and the work is already done for me. But, I do see the value of having a binder version as well.
Thanks for letting me know how you use your beautiful creation. I’m excited to get one started with my guys (who are only 5 and 3) that we’ll get to use for a few years.
