Has anyone used this?  This is the one written by Janice Campbell.   Reviews?  Thanks.

I used the American Lit one for 9th grade. Did you have specific questions? It was a few years ago and I’m trying to remember…. There were definitely some things I liked about it: the background, some of the writing suggestions like doing a write up on the historical period and such. I liked the once-a-month pacing. We actually used it with a a few other families and met once a month to discuss the book.

Ultimately, we didn’t continue with it because I wanted something that went into greater depth on literary analysis and wanted more involved writing assignments, but I did like it for the year we used it. There is also an “advanced” track in the book, which consists largely of more more readings from teh author or a contemporary.

Dd#1 used EIL American as written. I, too, wished there was more directed literature analysis but I still liked the setup. Next year I will be using it combined with “Any Novel Novel Study Guide” for dd#2.

@HiddenJewel, may I ask why it has to be combined with something else??  I had meant to use Lightening Lit or Any Novel Study, but haven’t made any of these decisions for my up and coming 9th grader.  Thanks!
