In the description of the book to buy it from this site it says “evolutionism implied” or something like that- what does that mean? I guess I’m being a little too protective but I really like the idea of teaching my kids about history from a totally creation point of view. Hope that makes sense.
Oh ok, I guess that’s not so bad if that is all it is. I was thinking they meant that it talks about early man in evolutionary terms.
I am just starting out with my son who will be in first grade (completed public kindergarten this year). Then I have a 3 year old girl and 8 month old boy. 🙂
I am not sure what book you are looking at. I was just going by other books I have seen that could be imply evolution. You could probably email customer service and ask for sure.
Definitely understand keeping creation in the forefront with ones that young.
I would think that it might be a good idea to post the title of the book here and ask for input from anyone here who has used the book with their kids. I find that reviews from the moms who have actually used a book are very helpful beyond what a brief description can tell you.
Thanks, yea it was the Oxford’s First Ancient History. When you click on “buy” under the description it says something about evolution being implied. It might not be that big of a deal. Since it is out of print I’m trying to figure out if I will use the module at all. We are on a tight budget so I need books I can get used for cheap! 🙂
LauraNthree, you don’t even use the chapters relating to the evolution idea. Also, you can use the modules and simply use books from the library that cover the subject listed in the lessons calling for the Oxford book…like everyday lives of the Ancient Egyptians, etc.
