There was some crazy weather out there today.  Is everyone safe?

And how do you explain to young children the WHYS of tornados and such?  Particularly in the framework of God….why did He create tornados?  Why does he allow people to get hurt by them?…etc…

These are two good articles that I think are easy enough to discuss with your children if you wanted to:

Here is something that may help you to explain from AIG. Death and sin entered the world when Adam sinned. The whole world is groaning until the day it is restored when Christ defeats sin/death.

read this one too!  Why do God’s children suffer? http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/am/v4/n3/children-suffer

Thanks.  The child that struggles with this the most understands sin and agency and all that.  His problem is with NATURE, which he views as created by God.  So in his mind it is God causing damage with the storms – there is no person making a bad choice.  It is something without thought or feeling that causes harm and either God created it by mistake OR He’s a mean God for hurting others.

I hope all are well.  I’ve read some reports of bad damage out there and just wanted to make sure all are okay.
