Since I have finally decided against a full Latin program at this time, I am opting to use EftRU with my kiddos – dd13, ds10, dd7, and I’m sure ds4.5 won’t be left out totallyWink – for the coming year. I already own the book and the flashcards, so I went in search of how others have used it successfully. Here are some links for you.

http://www.thecurriculumchoice.com/2010/01/english-from-the-roots-up/ – Barb from Harmony Art Mom reviews and shares

http://www.cyncesplace.com/Journal/english-from-the-roots-up/ – notebooking pages to save you some work, schedule ideas, tests

http://www.ttkreations.com/Homeschool_WordRoots.html – more notebooking pages, but these require the child only write the word and definition, not the derivatives

http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/302707-how-do-you-use-english-from-the-roots-up/ – some discussion and other links

from that WTM forum link – Also, If you go to the IEW yahoo group and become a member, you can go on their Lessonshare files and download a workbook study that Kathy Heiden has written up.

Thanks, Christie! We’re doing this for right now as well until if/when we do formal Latin. This will help flesh it out.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. The info from cynce is so helpful. Nothing left to do but buy the book and start! Awesome. We will add this t our Morning Time in the fall.
