I have a very independent 10th grader who needs to get through American History. I am going through Ancients with my middle schoolers and I want to continue with them, so doing American History as a family isn’t what I’d like to do right now. Has anyone allowed their high schooler to work through the guides independently with only parental oversight? Thanks!!

I dont have an answer for you but I am in a similar situation.  We have been using My Fathers World and enjoy it but my oldest will be in HS next year and needs his own history. I want us to stay in the same time period but I have to find something that will somewhat line up and still give hs credit. I already have next years curriculum so switching the whole family wont be possible, but I think he could work through the guide and still be able to enjoy our family read alouds, movies, projects, field trips etc.

I found the set used and I’m going to go for it.  I think it’ll be totally doable! Its not and overwhelming amount of work and I’m thinking that it’ll not be a problem for me to give adequate oversight while she works independently.
