Thanks Becky and Holly. I appreciate your fast response, suggestions and encouragement. I left out some needed details, my daughter is an avid reader. She’s a freshman, with a 12th grade reading level. I’d like a book or books to level up. She may enjoy the book suggested. I can’t say for sure, but, I thought I’d like something a little older. I went to purchase the book on Amazon, it’s suggested age was age 12.
I wanted to “teach the children” not the curriculum. So, I thought I’d like to at least try to level up.
“Very interesting history for Christians. It is a little tough to read sometime as it talks of some of the tortures that Christians have endured, yet it needs to be told. Written so that older children/teens can know the truth of our history of our faith. Parents, please read first to decide what is appropriate for your child.”
That was a review from ChristianBook.com. also read review that adults can get good from it as well…. Something to that affect
.. My daughter is 14 but I chose it based on her interest in it and also her two older brothers had read it at ages 12-13(?) for MFW elementary level.
I also wasn’t using it to ‘level up’ as you say….
I might be wrong, but I was thinking I’d seen Heart of Dakota has that book scheduled in year 2 of their High school guides…. just example of how it’s been used at different grade levels with curriculum.
It seems I may have seen a good book of similar topic for older but I’m not coming up with anything yet…..
