  • I can’t fit the whole question in the subject line, but while I thought I had decided on a couple of basic Kindles, I find myself wondering about the Nook Simpe Touch ($10 more than the low-end Kindle, but has a touch screen!). Love the idea of the touch screen. But we don’t shop on BN much and are really an Amazon family. Still, a good deal of the books I want my kids to be reading are things from Yesterday’s Classics or Heritage History, and I think they will give me BOTH ePUB and Kindle formats when purchasing their materials.

So what’s the disadvantage of the Nook Simple Touch vs a $69 Kindle? Or if we had a Kindle Fire and a Nook, would that be weird? We really don’t read popular fiction, and there are certainly some books I have downloaded for free for Kindle (directly from Amazon), I’m assuming I could do the same thing for the Nook. (OK, maybe that’s as assumption I shouldn’t make… I should go check bn.com on that.)

    Thanks!

I don’t think it would be weird at all, I have a Nook (1st generation) and a Kindle Fire and I love and use them both.  I bought the Nook because I actually don’t like touch screen items (i’m learning to love it now).  I don’t think it matter which you get for the YC and HH bundles because as you said you get both ePub and Kinlde files.  Yes, anything that free on B&N you can download onto the Nook, just be advised that the Kindle has more free books and with the fire you can get audio books.
