Okay, now that I have stopped laughing over the fact that my computer wanted to auto-correct “Baskervilles” to say “Basketballs,” (hey, now….my team is the Cavaliers, not the Timberwolves!), I can ask my question.

My dd16 is a struggling reader due to dyslexia, but she doesn’t mind a good literature read. In the past, she has enjoyed Watership Down, Little Women, A Christmas Carol, and The Scarlet Letter.  I had scheduled The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as her first literature read for this academic year, but I accidentally ordered Hound of the Baskervilles from the library.  It wouldn’t take more than a week to order the other one, but now I’m wondering if I should just stick with Hound anyways.  It’s been a very long time since I’ve read Dr. Jekyll, and I have wracked my brain but can’t recall the other one at all.

What do you all think?  Which would you choose and why?  Her other literature reads for this year will include Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights.

Hmmm….maybe that’s a book I ought to write–Hound of the Basketballs:  The Story of LeBron James.

I’ve read both, either is good. I remember reading Hound… in high school and getting creepy chills. 🙂

Just read Dr. Jeckyll … a couple of years ago and it was good, too. Maybe she could read the one you have and listen to the other during handicrafts/chores or something.  You know, cram it in somehow, right?

You write that book and make some money, girl!! 🙂

Both!  I think they are both great books.  If I recall, I think that Jekyll and Hyde is shorter.  OR if you already have the other, could you find a cheap audio version of Jekyll for her?
