Doug/Sonya – as I have been adding books for the year, I found that there were certain books that don’t have a title that is suitable for them. I wondered is it possible to add the following to the subjects on the organizer?
Government
Economics
Biography
Worldview
I think it would be really helpful to have these divisions especially for the high school years.
So far we’ve avoided adding too many subjects to keep the menu from becoming unwieldy. We’ve received a large variety of requests for subjects to add so it would be hard to add some without leaving someone’s requests out. We’re open to suggestions on how to do that equitably without making it overwhelming.
We do have plans to make it so you can add whatever subjects you like but I can’t say when we’ll get that done. It is an important feature that we will add but we have a few other things that need to get done first.
Well, I don’t know about some of the other requests you’ve received. So it might be harder than I’m imagining. But Government and Economics are things that are often required for high school, by states and by colleges. I am trying to keep everything straight, but I just keep having to put stuff under “Personal Development”.
Some of the requests we’ve received are niche subjects that few would ever use.
I do see the value of adding Government and Economics because they have broad appeal. Biography and Worldview probably have less appeal to everyone using the Organizer because those topics fit pretty well under History and Bible.
What would you all think if we added only Government and Economics for now?
I would be thrilled to have Government and Economics alone, those are the two subects giving me a headache, because I have quite a few resources for both of those, and I hate putting them in with history. It would realy help my daughters as well, keeping their own records straight. So I say a very respectful yes please Doug, that would make me very happy. Thanks for listenting to our requests to make more work for you and trying so hard to please us! Linda
Although we aren’t to that stage, if most states require Government and Economics for HS (and most seem to?) then I’d definately say they should be added in as standard subjects.
