WooHoo, we finished up what I wanted to get done by the end of the year today! We have been in flux for a while, and have been on a very light schedule… but we finished the phonics review program we were doing, and the math program.
So – I have plans for next year… but I need to make summer plans. I’m kind of thinking online here….
There will be swim lessons on many of the days….
math – a game maybe 2x a week?
reading – reading a book to me 2-3x a week?
copywork – 2x a week?
german/asl – story/video – 1 for each a week?
and something fun…. – drawing maybe? Do I dare actually try drawing with children???
I personally don’t care for Drawing with Children unless you want a heavily detailed program. Here are some good art resources that keeps it simple. The first one I am going to use the free demo DVD lessons for teaching an art co-op. The second one is an easy how to draw book that I can reference for quick ideas/ info as I teach.
Woo hoo – how fabulous! We are WAY behind where I anticipated being, but some serious health problems have come up in our family, so we’re just rolling with it and know it’s only a season. Enjoy your relaxed schedule!
Good for you! I, too, am way, way behind where I thought I’d be. Oh-well. The kids are definitely learning more than the kids in school anyway (as evidenced by their test scores, reading levels/comprehension, and just talking with the neighbor kids and other kids at church). I am going to finish up a few of the books we’re in the middle of and call it a year. 🙂 And hope for a better year next year! LOL
Well – we ended up dropping almost all subjects a couple of months ago due to my health issues, etc… so we are were I wanted us to be in the subjects we were still doing… lol. Will start it all up again next “term”…
I’ll check out those art links… I own the Drawing with Children, but it always intimidates me…
Carmen – we use Right Start, so there are math games as a part of the program. The card games kit can be bought seperately. However, if your kids add already, an easy one for regular cards is addition war…. like the regular war game except you turn up 2 cards and add them to see who wins the “war”…
