My oldest is 10yo. She is doing mostly 5th grade level work. Some 4th, some 6th. 😉 We really only have 7.5 years of schooling left for her. She is on the young end of 5th grade so it wouldn’t be a problem with her schooling through a bit longer as that’s sort of how things have worked out anyway.
I think I would like her to at least cover modules 5&6 a second time through. I don’t really want to start with those though because we have already done a bit of that time period recently. If I start with module 1 I would probably want to keep modules 1-3 in succession right?
Would it be terribly wrong to do 4,5,6 then 1,2,3, skip and do 5,6, then do 4?
So it would be 4,5,6,1,2,3,5,6,4,1,2,3,5,6,4

I currently have five children, all about 2 years apart.

Agreed, it’s your homeschool! We usually do one main time period each year at my house but the children always convince me to do something outside the time period at some point in the year. For example we may be doing modern times (module 6) and they beg for a break with a unit on ancient Greece. I usually try to oblige because they remember best what they have an interest in.

Thank you both! I mainly just wanted to be sure they stand alone and don’t have to tie into each other, iykwm.

I’m doing exactly that with our youngest 2DC. We are actually doing 4, Tx history spread across 5&6, 1, 2, and 3.

Youngest will do this, then repeat w/o Tx history. She will have done all six twice. Our older children did mom-created cm style Ed. Both our 12yos and 6yodd will finish with module 3. I tweak booklists to fit what we have in our library, adding titles specifically listed in modules when we are able, yet not fretting when it’s not possible. They will fill any “gaps” through raising their own children and learning throughout their lives. That’s what makes CM methods a blessing. It’s true education that continues after homeschooling because they’ve learned how to learn and love to do so. It’s the make it fun and easy for mom style. ;0)
