Ok reading through all the posts on the forum for history.  I did post  earlier but I have another question.  What if I wanted to use M1 for biblical history and M5 for american history.  Alternating them of course.  Guess Im stuck on starting from the beginning.  My boys are 6 and almost 10.  Thanks

Having started down this same road, what I ended up with is using the Vos Story Bible for biblical history. And then only adding a book or two extra. This works fine and doesn’t keep us too overwhelmed with our other history readings (and mine are 7 and almost 10). I’m not sure what you mean by alternating, though. We do both everyday – one is catagorized as “Bible” the other as “History”. HTH!

I had this same idea! We’ll be doing mod 5 with a 9 and 5 yo just starting out hs’ing. Someone recommended Answers in Genesis to use as a biblical foundation. It’s called the Answers for Kids Bible Curriculum.

Thank you.  I decided to use module 5 for history and read the different bibles.  I have one called The Mighty Acts of God and the one from Voss.  I’m very excited again about HS.  All I need to do is get a math program for my 9yo.  Using something from the public school system boring of course.   I kinow God will show me like He has everything else.

For Math programs, if you have the money, Right Start is fantastic!  My kids are really enjoying math.

If you are on a very tight budget, you might want to look into MEP Math.  It is free (except your printing costs) and is pretty good.  We used it for a couple of years, and my kids were enjoying it until my son started struggling with some concepts and I couldn’t move him past it with MEP.

I’ve also heard great things about Life of Fred math (which is math through a specially written series of story books) – they didn’t have an early elementary program when we started.
