Does it matter if my 3rd grade daughter does her math in a tree?

I agree with everyone else–let her do it in a tree and ignore your mom. I think the answer to “in school she would have to sit at a desk” is “that’s why she’s not in school.”

I love it! The only problem would be if she hid a calculator up in the tree! 😉

I have living proof.  Two of my children, who are now 24 and 26, did as much schoolwork as possible in trees, on roofs, on the trampoline.  I only drew the line at allowing them to do it in the pool.  They are both college graduates and well adjusted adults.  Laughing

Had to laugh too… Maybe she is just jealous… Tehe he…

If some of her students are doing poorly maybe you could suggest a tree to put them in..   Foot in mouth Tehe he

maybe I will have to have my son try that one!  LOL

Your question made me smile today…thanks for that! I didn’t read all the other replies since we are about to begin lessons, but in my opinion I’d encourage her to sit in the tree and do math if it helps! I’ve know of some homeschoolers who did work while jumpin on a trampoline and they are now college graduates! Whatever works! 🙂
