Started documentary “paper clips” it is really good so far. It is about an 8th grade class that sets out to collect 6 million paper clips to help visualize the 6 million Jews killed in the holocaust. It will be great for when we learn about it later. Rated G so not graphic just trying to teach about predjudice. It had 4 survivors talk and tell their stories, but had narration over any detailed parts.
I’m only 1/2 way through but so far it seems like a great resource to gently teach such a hard thing.
I would not choose it for a 9 year old. If they were my oldest child, but if they were tagging along with older kids I would probably let them watch. But my oldest is 5.5 so I may not be the best judge. It was not graphic and is rated G.
I would probably hold off then. I cried A LOT, but people in the documentary kept crying and that gets me every time. We are doing mod 5 next year and I will wait until our second cycle through to watch this with the kids. I will have a 12, 10, and 6 year old at that point.
