I showed it to my two 15 year olds; it was very educational and they learned quite a bit on issues not normally talked about in American news, but issues/political philosophies that parallel what we are seeing here and people have debated for centuries
I highly recommend for the high school ages
We also watched PM David Cameron’s concession and resignation speech, which was very statesman-like; so I recommend that as well
We just finished it and enjoyed it very much! I highly recommend it for older students. It was very informative and my daughter and I were captivated. We both learned so much!
Just a small warning: there were two middle of the road curse words in the documentary.
Lol Rachel! Good job at getting the point across. I didn’t have enough brain power to come up with an appropriate way of describing which curse word was used. Yes, it was very brief and we barely understood it the first time. Don’t you just love British accents? My daughter and I are fascinated by all things Britain.
Yes, we felt the same way. Some of those numbers were just staggering.
We’re self-admitted Anglophiles here! That’s how I grew up, too (with Masterpiece Theater and Doctor Who on tv)
The only American tv we watch are old episodes of X-Files and Family Ties or documentaries; everything else is BBC, via Amazon Prime (Patrick Stewart’s Macbeth is available on Prime currently) or PBS; we’re awaiting the next season of Poldark, Doctor Who, Sherlock, other Masterpiece Theater productions that look interesting, and any adaptation of an English novel!
Yes, we love all the accents; including the independent Republic of Ireland in there, too!
