I have a DS8 who I have had to start reading the “literature” books to my DD4, ie. Harry the Dirty Dog.  I count the book as literature for my DD, but does anybody count the book as, say, Leisure Reading or Beginning Reading for the older child?  My son has been a struggling reader, but is now doing quite well.  He is enjoying being able to do this for his sister.  It takes time, so I was wondering how to count it.

    TIA,

I haven’t before – only because I never thought of it!  I would either count it as “Beginning Reading” or Leisure Reading – and label it Book 1, Book 2 etc in the divisions.  Then you can record the name of the book in the note section for the resource.

I would too – especially as he has been a struggling reader…
