    Hi there

Can anyone please give me more information about the DIVE course.

Does Dive correlate exactly with Apologia or is it not that structured? So for example if Apologia do Air in their second chapter of Physical Science,Dive also have Air in it. I am just not sure how the 2 correlate with each other. Or is it more the other way around? Follow the DIVE schedule and then just do some extra reading in the Apologia book?

I have looked at the samples on the Dive website and really likes the tutorials, but do not want to miss the nice Apologia Handbook. Is there anyone that has done this course before? I am looking into the Earth Science for Grade 8.

I haven’t used Earth Science but have done 2 other classes with DIVE CDs. We follow the DIVE schedule. It is set up somewhat similarly to a university class where the lectures are the main thrust of the class and the readings are scheduled around them. My daughter found the Apologia book engaging enough that she did a lot of extra reading in it on her own.

    Thanks Carla

So do you find the DIVE more enjoyable and why don’t you just do the Apologia text with the notebook and tests? Is there something in DIVE that the kids love more????

How does DIVE correlate with Apologia? It seems that DIVE’s physicalchemistry is not exactly Apologia Physical but some of it is.

What are the reasons that you prefer DIVE above just Apologia text, notebook and tests?

    Thanks again!!!!

I use DIVE with the BJU textbook. DIVE is lecture, review questions, labs, tests all laid out for you. The textbook you choose just provides information. Here is a review I did on it a couple years ago. We have used DIVE Physical Science, DIVE Biology, and DIVE Chemistry.

    Hi Helene,

I like the format of DIVE because I love that it prepares older kids for the lecture/readings approach in university.   I also feel like getting the same information from a couple of different sources is great for kids; it adds a thoroughness to their science education. I also love the teacher; his passion for science and creation is really evident.   My daughters have really enjoyed him as well.

    I hope that helps!
