What’s your favorite? For us to read together, I’d like something like a modern day “Beautfiul Girlhood.” And I’d love rec.’s for her daily devotions, too (dd is 12, soon to be 13). I’d like books that focus on Godly character qualities to be developing…application qu. would be helpful. We’re a courtship family. Thanks for any rec.’s:) Blessings, Gina
My daughter loved Before You Meet Prince Charming as well. For a devotional book, she has been enjoying His Princess – Love Letters From Your King by Sheri Rose Shepherd and Jesus Calling 365 Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young. (Yes it is the children’s version but even I enjoy it…..it is not too young). 🙂
Oh, and my daughter is 13, and in 7th grade……going into 8th grade this next school year. 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions! I hadn’t realized the Prince Charming book was by Sarah Malley…we’re reading “Making Bros. and Sis. Best Friends” right now:) I bought Jesus Calling for both my kids (I LOVE the adult version:), but I don’t think really gave it a chance and thought it was kiddish….I should suggest it again to them. I’ll have to check out the other ones, thanks:)
Did your dd’s do all of these on their own? Did you do any of these together for mother/daughter time? Or maybe she could just narrate them to me…I’m just also looking for something to spark some good spiritual discussions. Thanks again! Gina
I’ve heard great things abount a few of these and appreciate the info as well on the ones I hadn’t heard of. My daughter is the same age.
Specifically for an academic study, my daughter has been doing the 6th grade Bible curr. From Christian Light Publishing. She is really enjoying it and learning great detail about the Bible. It is not a topical study, like a devotional. It is specifically a study that goes through the whole book in 1 year.
