Daily Plan Questions….

    I’m really trying to find how the CMO works. I see CMO as an amazing tracker – great for inputting resources to get the scheduled and logging what we’ve done.  In addition to my earlier post about not having “big picture” reports, I’m trying to really understand the Daily Plan. It presents the Next Assignment for the subjects I scheduled for that day. While I like the One Assignment View of the Daily Plan, there are several subjects we do more than 1 Assignment in a single day. Also, I would rather not print our Assignment sheet everyday. I’d love to see a extended view and use the same paper for several days. Of course, each afternoon, I’d still log our work in CMO, but I wouldn’t also have to print every day.  If for some reason, we’re away from our computer or our network is down, I don’t have to rely on internet access to know what to do next.

    While I realize I can show more and then print, the format isn’t designed as a multi-assignment checklist, it pushes my plan into two pages, plus, I still have to print again the next day for the subjects schedule not on the first day.

    While it’s a bit bold of me since I’m so new here, I wanted to submit to you an idea for a 5 Assignment View.  Bascially it’s a check list of the next 5 assignments for each subject.  Maybe called an Extended Plan. I formatted a quick .xls for a sample.  I imagine a / for worked on and a X for Finished.  Maybe the days the subject isn’t scheduled could be ‘lightly grayed’ or the schedule could be put next to the Subject Name (Literature M, W, F). Again, just an idea for you to consider as a printing option.

    Thanks for the idea, mom2my2. We love to gather ideas from users!

    Another possibility came to mind. If I’m understanding correctly what it is you want to do, you could enter your resource and then add divisions named Assignment. Then for Assignment 1 you could put the multiple chapters or lessons you want to cover. So instead of the resource listing Lesson 1-Birds, Lesson 2-More Birds, Lesson 3-Bats (or whatever), it would read something like Assignment 1-Lessons 3 and 4, Assignment 2-Lessons 5-7, etc. 

    Does that make sense? it’s hard to describe in writing. Smile With those customized assignments entered, you would be able to see at a glance what you had planned to do each day.
