Can I enter only one custom study method? I did so for dictation and then was not able to type one in for another subject. I’m using the free basic account right now, if that makes a difference.
Also am I able to edit the method I typed in? I tried to add something to it after I had saved it and moved on to another subject, but it wouldn’t let me. I just added it to the assignment in the notes instead, but I would have to remember to do that each week.
Looking at my print-out of the week’s work, maybe I should have entered it a different way because it doesn’t give me those nifty check boxes for W & F. I wonder how I can enter it to do that? The resource is Spelling Wisdom and we do only one exercise a week. On Monday, dd reads the passage, we discuss meaning, and she chooses words to write on index cards to display on the wall all week. On Tuesday, she studies the spelling. On Wednesday, she studies spelling & completes the corresponding Using Language Well exercise. On Thursday, she studies spelling & we discuss the grammar concepts that she has been using in JAG this week. On Friday, dictation. This approach is working much better for us than trying to fit in two SW exercises per week. Would I have to enter each day as a separate division, the repeat for each SW selection?
You can enter as many custom study methods as you like. However, each resource can have only one study method.

Right now, we don’t have a way to edit the custom methods you’ve entered.
Would I have to enter each day as a separate division, the repeat for each SW selection?
That’s one way to do it, if you make a copy of the Spelling Wisdom resource to create your own custom version. Another option might be to schedule the same Spelling Wisdom resource multiple times, one for each day, with a custom study method for each day’s work. With that approach, you would have something like this:
Monday: Custom study method of “Read and discuss passage.”
Tuesday: Custom study method of “Study spelling.”
Wednesday: Custom study method of “Study spelling and complete corresponding ULW exercise.” (Or schedule ULW for Wednesday and re-use the “Study spelling” method.)
Thursday: Custom study method of “Study spelling and discuss grammar concepts.”
Friday: Method “Do a dictation.”
So each day in that above list would have its own copy of the resource scheduled.
Oh, I wish I had understood what you meant before I did it the way I wrote about. It would then repeat each week according to the day of the week, right? I typed out 5 divisions for L. 83, then 5 for L. 84, etc. I only got a few weeks typed in so will need to go back and finish later. I actually had to take SW out of the schedule then put in my copy of it because it would never give me the question about replacing an updated version. Anyway, when I go back to put in the other weeks, with it automatically update the daily plan? Or will I need to do that through “edit schedule”? I wouldn’t want to get a few weeks down the road and then not know why assignments aren’t showing up. I did figure out how to fix some assignments that were not showing on this week’s print-out. Learning curve!

If you change the resource’s divisions after you’ve scheduled it, you’ll need to click Edit schedule for that resource and then click the link to update the schedule to use the most recent version of the resource.
