We just printed off lined writing paper and worked our way through the lowercase letters first and then the uppercase. I start mine off with e, i, l, t, h, k, b, and so on. They are all constructed similarly with the slant up beginning. Then we can do easy words like hit, lit, bet, etc. then I did the letter that start with a “hook” like a, o, g, etc. then we do the “bump” letter like n, m, v, z.
As we go we practice words made up of the letters we have already learned. The children like to help think them up.
We generally do a letter for 2-3 days at a time before going on to the next one.
