Hi,
I am looking for a good resource to teach cursive to an 8th grader. We did do cursive when she was younger but with her struggles with dyslexia we realized that we were better off to stick with print for the time being. I think she is at the point where she can learn cursive again. But, most of the cursive books are written for younger kids. Do you know of a good resource for the older child?

Genesis curriculum has a cursive copywork book that is scriptures. I bought mine from Rainbow Resource.

My daughter learned italic cursive years ago but wanted to learn traditional cursive recently. I wrote out the alphabet for her in upper and lower case letters and she copied that for a couple of weeks and then moved on to writing her name and then on to writing whatever she wanted for 10 minutes each day. We also used Jan Bartowsky’s free videos on handwriting. They are fantastic!
This whole process only took a matter of a few weeks and my daughter now has very pretty cursive handwriting.

You can also just google Jan Bartowsky (hope I’m spelling her name correctly!) handwriting and you will find a link to the free videos on her website. She does offer handwriting curriculum but my daughter wanted to learn traditional cursive and Jan has her own version of cursive.

simplemom, did you use the revised workbook or the classic edition? The description doesn’t really say what is revised about it. It says something is added, but what?
