First of all I would like to say that I absolutely LOVE the scheduler! WHew! WHat a relief it is to have this!
Now on to my question. We now are adding the Letters from Egypt into our Module 1 curriculum for my 3rd grader and I am curious what the recommendation is for adding it to the curriculum. Is it a daily thing? Weekly? As desired? WHats the best way to use this with our History Module 1?
The easiest way to include Letters from Egypt is to read about 5 pages per week. I read them on the same day we did map drill, just so I wouldn’t forget.
OK here is another question. I am not sure how Geography ties in with History. Will it tell me when I’m supposed to do the Geography or how do I fit the map drills in and if I’m on lesson 1 of history module 1 how do I know what map to use?
Oh and I have the Robert Louis Stevenson’s A child’s Garden of Vs and I added it to the scheduler but it only has 15 sections listed and I can’t edit it. How do I work around that? I was hoping to just read and or copy 1 poem every Thursday. There are more than 15 poems in there though. So how does that work?
For Module 1, you’ll start geography during Term 2 and the lesson plans will tell you when to do that. Since you’re studying ancient Egypt, you will be focusing on the continent of Africa for map drill and reading Letters from Egypt for living geography book. (Since map drill doesn’t start until Term 2, you might want to read Letters from Egypt on your “off” day during Term 1. I believe the lesson plans are set up for four days a week, so you could use that “off” day to read the Geography book if you want to.)
