I love all the things in the Critical Thinking Company, but don’t want to spend money foolishly.  I am looking for the Jr High ages say 12yr – 14yr.  You know before HS.  But suggestions for HS more than welcome.  So what do you use?  Why do you like it?  Do you feel it’s something they will use for the long haul?  Thanks

I don’t have any recommendations – just wanted to say that I love reading their catalog, and one product that I really want is the “You Decide – applying the bill of rights to real cases”.  Maybe I should just get it for myself LOL.

My oldest student is in 5th grade so I don’t have any experience with the products for the upper grades, but we have used Math Detective and I like it for practice with word problems.  I also like the samples of science detective that we have done.  We have also done the half and half animals.  Didn’t like the critical thinking workbooks so much – too much like “schoolwork” and not enough like “puzzles” to be fun.

Be sure and let us know how you like the stuff if you purchase any 🙂

Also had “Editor in Chief” which I really liked and somehow I lost it 🙁  I may buy at the appropriate level for next year.

Gem, You Decide is DEFINITELY worth the purchase.  I am borrowing it from a friend, and will be purchasing it to keep for later use with the youngest and to simply slow down (so we won’t need to worry about completing it by a certain time).  🙂
