Can anyone recommend a good book about the Grand Canyon that is written from a creationist perspective? Preferably a fairly simple picture book (I would be reading it with dd 5.5). We are doing Arizona this week in our State Study, and also will be visiting the Grand Canyon later this summer. We’ve looked through some library books with lovely pictures, but of course the “millions of years” type of text….I’d like to be able to balance this out and present the creationist side of things as well.
Funny you should mention AIG….I was just reading an article on their site about the book that Doug recommended. Seems the National Park bookstore there had that book in their “inspirational” section, and boy was there ever a firestorm of criticism about it! A lot of folks, scientists included, wanted it pulled from their shelves because it favored a creationist view of how the Grand Canyon came to be and how old it is. Apparently, they didn’t get their wish. I believe the book is still sold there.
