Be sure to take a moment to thank your Senator via email (they’re tired of phone calls) for voting AGAINST ratification – if they did vote against it. It’s important to let them know we’re still alive after the vote as well as before.
I had one for and one agaisnt. I sent a thank you to the ‘against’…and I might send a ‘change your mind’ to the for. But I’m not sure it will do much good.
Yeah! Our Sen. Lugar (IN) voted for the treaty. Soon after I called a friend told me his lines were closed at both at his district and Washington office…hope it’s because he heard from so many of us:)
This makes me SO happy. I’m honestly flooded with relief. As a parent of a special-needs child, I’ve been terrified of what could come next…thanks for the news!
This is a wonderful day, but we must all remain vigilant as the UN has powerful allies in the government who want to make sure this and other things get past all the opposition. Let us hope that no executive orders get signed on this, if that is possible and I am not sure of that. Parental Rights Org are fantastic and are worth visiting regularly.
