I am suppose to do a craft for 5 kids 8-12 this month. And I usually relate it to the month or something that is going on in the month. But ahhhh this time I am stumped. Do you have any idea’s? Here’s the thing, it needs to take only about an hour, can’t cost more than about $5 for a family and it needs to appeal to both boy and girl. Any help would be great! misty
I just thought of maybe doing a weather craft or something that has to do with wind or rain? I found this http://www.dltk-kids.com/crafts/weather/index.htm scroll down and you will see crafts for windsocks, pinwheels, and windmills. Pretty neat! I will have to consider doing one of these with my kids! Good luck! And have fun!
I would DEFINITELY suggest planting something that could then be transplanted. Super cheap for a packet of seeds, a bag of soil, and clay/plastic pots. Or if you got bigger pots it wouldn’t even necessarily need to be transplanted – you could do an herb or flower.
April showers – I’m not sure if this is exactly right but I saw somewhere you can use powdered tempera paint, sprinkle it on construction paper and then use a dropper to drop water droplets on the paint and paper and it makes pretty designs – don’t soak it though, just a few drops – let dry and then shake remaining powder off. It seemed pretty easy, so it could easily be done alongside another weather related craft. You might google it to make sure I have it right, though.
