13yo ds is a huge fan of the movie National Treasure, and he just asked me if he could have a copy of the Declaration of Independence. (It might take him a year and a half to actually read it, but hey….)
I have a little booklet of the Constitution, but I don’t know where I got that from. I know I can get transcripts of the text or fuzzy images of the Declaration online, but I think I would like a nice little printed copy of the text (like the Constitution booklet I have) or maybe a wall poster version. Does anyone know where I could get something like that?
Target had a small booklet that contains the constitution documents in their dollar section. It was out during their back to school time, so not sure if it would still be there or not now. We are currently memorizing the Gettysburg address using it. Well worth the ONE dollar. 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions. The Love to Learn site has the same booklet on the Constitution that I have. I see they also have one with several documents that is only $1.99, and it includes the Declaration of Independence, which I am looking for.
I actually ended up buying a poster of the Declaration on Allposters.com, but I wasn’t intending to….there was a 20% off code on their site, and I kept looking for the field they said to put it in, but couldn’t find it. I kept clicking on through, thinking that it was on the next screen, but I went one screen too far and ended up placing the order!
I emailed them right away in hopes they will apply the 20% off….that would pay for some of the shipping. We’ll see….
