We are 5 years away from being done homeschooling our kids. This brings me much anxiety because I have no idea what I will do with myself after we are done. I don’t have a college degree. I have tossed around the idea of going back to school, but I don’t really have a huge desire to do so and even if I did I don’t know what I would major in. I love history and literature and loathe the fact that kids in government schools are not taught true/accurate history. One of my passions is to see parents choose to homeschool and then to help them be successful. I don’t know if I could make any kind of career out of that, but would love to stay involved in the homeschool community in some capacity. Is anyone else going to be facing the same thing soon? Any suggestions on how to direct my thought process? Obviously prayer is huge, but I need to be considering my options too.

At our church, one mom who is almost finished schooling her own children is helping establish a co-op/homeschool enrichment program for homeschoolers at the parish. It’s just getting started, but I can see she has a lot to offer! Maybe you could look into doing something like that!

Even without a college degree, there are various ways to contribute to the field of education. You can explore opportunities such as becoming a tutor, teaching assistant, or working in education support roles. Your experience as a homeschooling parent can be valuable in these roles.
