Hi! I’m planning to use 106 days, but haven’t purchased it yet. I did, however, purchase Considering God’s Creation. I purchased it used and forgot to ask if it was the 6th edition, which it is not. Does it matter for using w/ 106 days?
We use the 5th edition. The only issue I’ve run into is that the page numbers are off just a bit but the content needed is all there. For example, in 106 Days, lesson 64 states
“Play together Considering God’s Creation, ‘It’s a What? Game’ (on page 56 in the teacher’s manual)”.
The game instructions in the 5th edition are on page 59 instead of page 56. It hasn’t been a problem for me.
We use the 106’s as well, but I photo copy most everything so that both of my older boys can use it. I have an almost 11yo and a 7yo, but we started this about a year ago and since you use some of it for your older one’s only then the the trouble of copying wasn’t a big deal. Plus, you don’t use the whole book so to copy the pages we needed was easy. We have a scanner which has made my life much easier when it comes to making copies…..highly recommend!
I may do something a little different with my youngest when the time comes (possibly do it with just him as my focus and let the others tag along, haven’t quite decided). I tried to have him tag along but it didn’t really work out that way, I even had a binder just for him so he could feel involved, but he may have still been too young.
This is one of my favorite ways to conquer science. I absolutely love it and I thank those who put it together. How I wish I had been homeschooled and was offered such a gentle and unique way to observe/learn/appreciate science and the One who spoke it in to existance……
If I remember correctly, you don’t use every single page of CGC but you do use most of it. For example, I don’t believe I used all of the word-search review sheets in the back.
Thank you so much! I actually just bought CGC and planned to put together my own thing. BUT 106 Days looks like it would save me lots and lots of time. Plus I do have some youngers so that would also help.
I have Pink and Yellow on its way from another library. I figured we’ll do the first 6 days in the sample and then go from there.
Thanks again!
