I am trying to plan ahead for next year, and there are so many choices that I’m getting overwhelmed! For science, I’m trying to decide between Considering Gods Creation or Discovering Nature Series. I have 7 kids with a baby on the way. My kids range from 1-12 years. I would like to keep them all together for science, however I will probably have my oldest two daughters do Apologias general science next year. Have any of you used Considering Gods Creation or Discoveing Nature Series that can offer some advice? I’ll be using it for my 6, 8, and 10 year olds. Thanks!
We are using Considering God’s Creation this year and LOVE it. We all do Science together. We have 6 kids ages 2 to 9. Currently only 3 are school aged, but the younger ones listen and participate if interested. I like the living books recommended. I like the audio and video that are recommended. I feel like it’s really a great balance between creative, experimenting, discussing and living books. I also like that with the digital pdf, I can print what I want and use it in the future as needed. I am not familiar with the other curriculum you mentioned. Hope this helps 🙂
We’re going through 106 Days/Considering God’s Creation for a 2nd time next year. We did it a few years ago, but had a newborn baby as well as a move and didn’t quite finish all the lessons…although we loved the ones we got to! There is quite a bit of cutting and pasting with the CGC notebooks, so it does take a bit of time to get through those. SCM’s 106 Days guide helps simplify the lessons and add in some living books and videos.
I’m excited to try it again with my younger ones!
