I was looking to get Considering God’s creation for my 2nd grader for next year and I just realised it is recommanded for 3-6 grades on the schedule.

Would it be most likely to hard to use or would that be doable?

And is the 106 days of creation meant to use every day?

I was using Considering God’s Creation with my K, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and it was fine for the K but to easy for the others!  The 3rd grader liked it and I will probable have her continue on her own with the K but the others knew everything.  We had done only 106 Days of Creation when the oldest were in K and 1st or 1st and 2nd.  I think I did 106 Days 4 days a week if I remember correctly.

I am using it with my 2nd grade dd right now and I am planning on continuing with it into her 3rd year as well until we are finished it. We is enjoying almost all of it so far and I do not think it is to hard at all. I agree with Kristen that it would be much to easy for 5th and up. Many 4th graders would find in somewhat juvenile as well, I think, but that would depend on the individual child and it may still be a good fit for many that age.

It is workable in the younger grades but you will miss out on how deep you can go with it. It can easily fit for older elementary by doing all the sections including vocabulary and the Digging Deeper ideas. The activities may seem juvenile to some students but I don’t they need to be if the main focus is on the deeper study.

We are using it this year and my 7yo has no trouble with it.  It does have some cutting and pasting if your child struggles with that they may need a bit of help.  106 Days is meant to be scheduled 3 times per week.

So for those of you doing CGC with younger children, they are grasping the Bible reading and discussion and the vocabulary or are you just focusing on the activities?

I loved using 10 Days with my 2nd grader a couple years ago.  It uses Considering God’s Creation as a resource.  I think Considering God’s Creation is too dry for little ones on its own but is a nice supplement once the appetite is whetted with ideas from 106 Days.  This is, of course, just my personal opinion but I hope it is helpful.
