I am planning to use Genesis through Deuteronomy with my 1st and K students. We don’t do 36 weeks though. We do more like 32. What would the best way be to condense this?

You could easily do some bible readings at night as well as during the day and that would condense it right there!  We have done this!  We are still reading through the scripture and asking for narration.  We would do one lesson during the day and then the next one at night.   Also, we use the Visits to Series for our geography.  There are some lessons where they are making their own map.  We skip these particular lessons.  There are usually only a few.  For this age group, that would be a good way to condense.  Just a few suggestions!

We’ve also skipped the mapping, as it was too much for my younger ones.  Another possibility is to have history 5 days per week and geography in its own time slot.  Just schedule it carefully so you don’t have a geography reading immediately before or after a history reading.
